Rope Access Training
An IRATA approved and accredited training course at CLS Offshore Ltd provides more than just knowledge of industrial rope access skills. Working to IRATA's exacting standards we offer technical, practical and safety training for beginners, individuals wishing to upgrade to a higher skill level and those requiring refresher training. All CLS courses focus on the safety aspects of working at height and can be tailored to suit specific projects and applications.
If you have a head for heights and are considering a career in rope access, we can offer a complete package to get you started.
Medical requirements
All candidates are required by IRATA to sign a self-certification medical form or will need to provide a medical certificate confirming fitness to work at height. This can be obtained from your local GP or a UKOOA standard medical.
Note: It is a mandatory requirement for all personnel working in the offshore industry to be in possession of a UKOOA medical certificate.
Physically fit to undertake rope access training?
It must be understood by all trainees that rope access training involves dynamically demanding activities, therefore a reasonable level of physical fitness is required.
IRATA registration
Course costs at Level 1 include registration with IRATA, provision of a log book and CLS rope access training manual. To register you must provide your National Insurance number and one passport photograph.
Level 2 requirements
To progress from Level 1 to Level 2 requires a minimum of 1000 hours and one year's experience at Level 1.
Level 3 requirements
To progress from Level 2 to Level 3 requires a further 1000 hours as a Level 2 and one year's experience as a Level 2.
Re-assessment requirements
Re-assessment may be undertaken up to six months prior to expiry of current certification. Where certification has expired candidates may, in some circumstances, have to revert to a lower level of qualification and re-take certification at the lower level. It is therefore strongly recommended that re-assessment at the same or higher level is undertaken before the expiration of current certification
